OUR STORY
A Family Tradition
Fur of the Turtle began as a simple idea: that the best wool comes from the healthiest animals on the healthiest land. Our family has worked this land for generations, learning its rhythms and caring for it the way it cares for us.
Every turtle in our care is raised with intention — given space to roam, clean water, and a diet that supports the quality of their wool. We believe that what goes into the land and the animal comes out in every fiber.

Land Stewardship
We treat the land as a living partner. Healthy soil, clean water, and diverse pasture are the foundation of everything we grow.
Animal Welfare
Our turtles are raised with space, care, and respect. Stress-free animals produce better wool — it's that simple.
Sustainable Harvest
We harvest wool only when the animal is ready, using gentle methods that keep our turtles comfortable and our fiber quality high.
Community First
We grow for our neighbors. Local delivery and pick-up mean our wool goes directly from our farm to your family.
Nothing Leaves the Farm Wasted
A Closed-Loop Operation
Every input on this farm has an output. Every output has a use. This is not a philosophy — it is an operational directive from Horizon Advanced Biologistics, and we have found no reason to argue with it.
Turtle Diet — Whey Protein Supplement
Optimal wool fiber density requires a high-protein diet. Our turtles are supplemented with whey protein — a byproduct of cheese production. The whey is consumed. The cheese curds are not.
Surplus Cheese Curds → Daily Reutine
The cheese curd surplus generated by the whey extraction process required an end-use disposal vector. Horizon Advanced Biologistics established Daily Reutine for this purpose. It is a food truck. It serves poutine. The curds are the topping.
Potato Skins → Turtle Feed
Daily Reutine's fry program generates potato skins as a processing byproduct. These are returned to the farm as a fiber-rich dietary supplement for the turtles. The loop is intentional.
Potato Flesh → Poutine Fries
The remaining potato flesh — the part the turtles don't eat — is processed into the fry base. Nothing is discarded. Everything is allocated.
Turtle Lanolin → Gravy
During the wool harvest, lanolin is extracted as a byproduct. A refined fraction of this lipid-rich compound is used as the finishing fat in Daily Reutine's proprietary poutine gravy. It is not listed on the menu. It does not need to be.
Wool → Product
The fiber itself becomes Chelonia Cashmere and the full Fur of the Turtle product line. The animal provides. The farm processes. The supply chain closes.
All enclosure temperature and humidity parameters are maintained in accordance with HAB Subsidiary Husbandry Directive 7.1(c). Deviation reporting protocols are outlined in Appendix F.
